severe and persistent mental illness, abuse victims, addictions,
domestic violence, as well as other problems.

Board Certified Professional Christian Counselor (BCPCC)
Patrick was recently awarded the BCPCC. This is an exciting
advancement for Patrick and the field of Christian Counseling. Until
recently Christian Counselors were without a major certifying body, and
thus were largely self-appointed in their status as Christian
Counselors. With the advancement of this certification a counselor can
demonstrate adherence to “Christian Counseling” standards
of excellence. The Certification has recently been offered by the
American Association of Christian Counselors. See below for further
explanation.
American Association of Christian Counseling (AACC)
The AACC is an association of nearly 50,000 counselors. The
association’s purpose is to equip Christian counselors as well as
the entire community of care with Biblical truth and psycho-social
insights that minister to hurting people.

The International Board of Christian Counselors (IBCC)
The AACC created the IBCC to establish standards of practice for
Christian Counseling. By obtaining the BCPCC the professional counselor
demonstrates possession of necessary qualifications and also pledges to
practice within acceptable Christian Counseling standards. |
